I noticed that the shares in arch coal Inc fell rapidly from about $35 to the present value of $15 that it is now. Because of this I decided to buy some shares in the company a couple of weeks ago at the price of $15. Since then the shares in the company have fallen even more and are now worth $14.20. Although I do not mind this little bit of a loss and my stop loss is set at $13 I’m still thinking about selling the shares; the reason for this is because of recent Analysts Downgrades of this company.
It appears that the analysts feel that it is possible that the demand for coal could be lower in the future than it is now due to the fact that many utilities are making the move towards using natural gas instead of coal. I do not totally agree with them but the fact that the analysts have downgraded the target for the company means that the shares are likely to fall even further. Therefore it is a bit of a no-brainer to sell my shares in the company.
